Sam Bradford, Oklahoma: 36
Colt McCoy, Texas: 35
Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame: 23
Tim Tebow, Florida: 22
The average Wonderlic score for players in the NFL is 21. While the average score for a QB is a 24, the average score for the QBs slated to start in 2010 (minus Matt Cassel and Matt Moore since no one can seem to find their scores) is 28.5. Not so good for Florida's golden boy's measly score of 22.
Just for reference, here are the scores of the NFL QBs I could find:
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bills: 48 (he went to Harvard)
Alex Smith, 49ers: 40
Eli Manning, Giants: 39
Matt Stafford, Lions: 38
Tony Romo, Cowboys: 37
Aaron Rodgers, Packers: 35
Matt Leinart, Cardinals: 35
Tom Brady, Patriots: 33
Matt Ryan, Falcons: 32
Matt Schaub, Texans: 31
Philip Rivers, Chargers: 30
Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks: 29
Marc Bulger, Rams: 29
Brady Quinn, Browns: 29
Mark Sanchez, Jets 28
Drew Brees, Saints: 28
Josh Freeman, Buccaneers: 27
Joe Flacco, Ravens: 27
Carson Palmer, Bengals: 26
Jay Cutler, Bears: 26
Kyle Orton, Broncos: 26
Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers: 25
Chad Pennington, Dolphins: 25
JaMarcus Russell, Raiders: 24
Jason Campbell, Redskins 23
Brett Favre, Vikings (for now): 22
Chad Henne, Dolphins 22
Mike Vick, Eagles: 20
Bruce Gradkowski, Raiders 19
Vince Young, Titans 15 (6 on the first try)
Donovan McNabb, Eagles (for now): 14
David Garrard, Jaguars: 14
Bengals' former punter/wide receiver (1976-1985) Pat McInally (also a Harvard grad) has the only verified perfect score of 50. Mike Mamula, the Eagles' former defensive/linebacker ('95-'00), scored a 49. Currently, 3 players are tied for the highest score (48) of active players in the NFL: Fitzpatrick, Ben Watson of the Pats, and Kevin Curtis of the Eagles.
On the other end of the spectrum:
Kordell Stewart: 13
Marcus Vick (the dog killer's younger brother): 11
Jeff George: 10
Chris Leak: 8 (he decided to only answer 12/50 questions)
Obviously, as you can see, one's Wonderlic score is not always indicative of how someone will do in the NFL. Fitzpatrick got a 48 and he sucks while Dan Marino and Terry Bradshaw got a 15. On the other hand, if you look at Jeff George and Marcus Vick, they were pretty accurate.
Want to know how you'd do? Here is an example test.
