Last Thursday, I was a guest on Four Down Territory, a podcast for NFLDraftBlitz.com run by Chris Horwedel. You can find the podcast here or on ITunes (my podcast's date is 1/16/10).
Now if you listen to it or plan to, let me explain a few things:
I was incredibly nervous (I am a nervous person, I can't help it!) so my nervous ticks kicked in and my mind went blank on a lot of things.
Chris caught me off-guard with a question about Hasselbeck. Not his fault, but I most definitely did not see a single Seahawks game this season (remember, I live in Jersey) and since I could not really care less about the Seahawks, I did not care to look up their stats, especially Hasselbeck's. The Seahawks, while awful this season, were not as bad as the Rams or Lions and so they just sort of coasted through the season under my radar. My bad.
I did not correctly convey my complete and utter hate for the Manning family. Yes, I mentioned I hate them, but let me get this straight: I truly and very deeply, despise them with a burning fire that consumes my soul. Instead of going on a rant on how I really hope Eli and Peyton are sterile because I don't want future generations of Manning children ruining Patriots' seasons, I will just promise to write a post (or two) on it at a later date.
I sound like a very angry (and sort of unnecessarily so) person when discussing Kiffin. I'm a passionate person and I get sort of wound up easily with these sort of things and, as I said, I was extremely nervous, so half of my reasons for despising him completely escaped my mind so all I could say was "I just really hate him." Luckily, my ability to put together a coherent sentence about him has returned: He, Lane Monte Kiffin, is a self-concerned, pompous little weasel who is on his way (if he isn't there already) to becoming as hated in the NCAA as Nick Saban is by LSU and the Miami Dolphins. His ability to incite anger and hatred amongst such a large range of people is unmatched and most definitely surpasses his ability as a coach. While I understand that true loyalty in sports is a very rare thing to find, his blatant disregard for the people (like the players, families, and fans) he made promises to and his lack of loyalty to anyone but himself is utterly disgusting. And now that I have gotten that off my chest, I will no longer speak of him..until he pulls his next stunt.
Anyway, if listen to it and think I sound sort of clueless, it is just nerves and if Chris decides to have me back on, I promise to redeem myself and unlike the man I am no longer mentioning, I don't break promises.
